Product-connected scan actions for offers, stockists and feedback

Add an optional next step to a product scan page without hiding the product passport. Attach an action to one SKU, or run a workspace-wide action across products that do not have a specific live action.

Scan actions for connected packaging, not generic campaign software

The strongest use case for scan actions is commercial and product-specific. A shopper scans a drink, supplement, skincare product, pet food, toy or household item and reaches the product page first. From there, the brand can offer a practical next step: find a stockist, join loyalty, enter a giveaway, send feedback, claim a retailer offer, read an impact story or contact support. The same GS1 Digital Link QR code keeps working after that action ends because the product passport remains the permanent destination.

Product connection is the difference. A brand can attach a live action to one SKU when the offer only applies to that product. It can also run a workspace-wide action across products that do not have their own live action. This gives small teams a clean way to test connected packaging engagement without printing a second QR code, buying a separate campaign platform or sending every scan to the same generic landing page.

Privacy-first lead capture, layered above the public passport

Scan actions sit above the public product passport, never in front of it. A shopper can still read the product page without giving personal details. If the action asks for name, email or country, the form includes an explicit consent checkbox and stores the response as an action entry. CSV export is available for follow-up, and the brand can pause or delete the action without changing the printed QR code.

This is useful for brands searching for smart QR codes, connected packaging platforms, QR code product information and first-party consumer engagement. The scan action is not the whole experience. It is the conversion layer on top of product identity, product traceability and useful product proof.

Quick answers

Can an action be attached to one product only?
Yes. A scan action can be product-specific, or workspace-wide for products that do not have their own live action.
Do scan actions replace the product passport?
No. The product passport stays visible first. Scan actions add optional next steps such as where to buy, feedback, loyalty or a giveaway after the shopper has reached useful product information.
